How do I know if I am being paid the right amount?
This is the part of selling that gives everyone the most anxiety. I know, because I also have to sell into the trading market, and I have often wondered if I am getting a fair price for my colored gems, gold, and diamonds. And will the offer being made still be available if I want to check the market and see if I can do better? I address this concern with my clients in two ways. First, I disclose the full value of the gold, diamonds, jewelry, bullion, coins, or estate and clearly show my profit margin. Second, I provide a written quote and honor that quote when the client returns.
What should I expect when selling jewelry ?
You should expect to be paid above scrap prices for jewelry that can be resold for a profit by the buyer, and you should expect a gold-based price for broken or heavily worn jewelry that is outdated or out of style. You should expect transparent evaluations where the buyer shows you weights, testing methods, and allows you to watch the entire process from start to finish.
Gem identification and testing are key to being paid the correct amount, and all testing and results should be explained at no charge. These tests include Refractive Index testing, XRF testing, scratch testing, SIGMA testing, weight verification, and microscope gemologist observations. It’s important to have your evaluation performed by an experienced gemologist with years of expertise.
How long does it take to get paid?
We pay same day for anything sold. payments above $250,000.00 are bank wire only transactions.
What is included in a free evaluation?
Gem identification, XRF testing, refractive index testing as needed, microscope inclusion and treatment observations as required, and written offers based on those results.
